The Dodge County Center for the Arts (DCCA) and the Nancy Zieman Sewing Studio & Quilt Shop are proud to sponsor a special Bed Turning Event at the Dodge County Center for the Arts (DCCA) during the Wisconsin Arts & Peony Festival on Saturday, June 13. Presentations will be held at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

A Bed Turning is a cherished quilting tradition that combines storytelling, history, and craftsmanship. Originating as a social gathering, quilts are layered one atop another on a bed. As each quilt is carefully turned back, its unique story, history, and significance are shared with the audience, creating a memorable experience that brings each piece to life.

The Bed Turning complements this year’s Great Wisconsin Quilt Show “Black & White Plus One” Quilt Challenge Exhibit, a collaborative effort between the Dodge County Center for the Arts and the Nancy Zieman Sewing Studio & Quilt Shop.

The exhibit features more than 60 remarkable quilts created by talented quilters from across the country. Each piece was crafted using only black and white fabrics with the addition of one accent color, showcasing extraordinary creativity while honoring the legacy of Nancy Zieman and her lifelong passion for quilting, education, and inspiring others.

Visitors are invited to enjoy both the Bed Turning presentations and the Quilt Challenge Exhibit during the Wisconsin Arts & Peony Festival. The exhibit will also remain on display during regular DCCA gallery hours through June 20.

Whether you’re a lifelong quilter, an admirer of textile art, or simply curious about the stories stitched into every quilt, this is an experience not to be missed.
