Join us as we celebrate “When Words Become Art” – A Unique & Expressive Collaboration Between Tami Joe DeLisle and Jill Wagner.

This collection presents a connection between artists, between stories, and between media.  Each image illustrates experiences to move us beyond words and into emotion.  It is our hope you encounter a deeper understanding of the importance of seeing another.

Over the past two decades a very special relationship has grown. Jill supported Tami as she left an abusive marriage and Tami supported Jill raising children coming from a traumatic past. Each sought paths to express their emotional journey towards strength and wellness. Jill began expressing through the written word the hurt a parent feels as their children struggle to heal while Tami learned to use her visual art skills to move through her own story.

This led to a connection that helped them grow as artists and friends. Jill began to take photography classes and Tami obtained her Masters Degree in art therapy. Tami recognized a story that needed illustration, and with Little Bear, this collaboration began. As Jill shared snap shots and words that helped to describe broken crayons that continue to color in sometimes messy ways, Tami found connection and a deep desire to wash the pain into paint.

The show runs February 10th through March 17th with an opening reception from 1-3 pm on February 10th.  Meet the artists and discuss their work.

Hours are Wed-Friday from noon-5, Saturday from 10-3 and Sunday from noon to 3.  Admission is always free and open to the public.

Broken Crayons

We are all a little broken. But last time I checked, broken crayons still color the same. – David Weaver

Broken, beyond repair and redemption, defined by what we were, what we’ve done, what has been done to us, forever tainted.
